中國有1.3億到城市工作的農民工，他們只在每年的春節返鄉，這是世界上最大的人潮遷徙……。搭配著2008年春節前夕的廣州火車站的擁擠人潮，這部紀錄片緩緩啟航。農民工夫妻倆從1990年就離開老家，到廣州成衣工廠，一年才回家過一次春節。夫妻倆日以繼夜地工作只為了孩子能把書念好，長大後不必再像他們這般。影片冀由注視一個平民家庭的命運，輻射中國底層生活的面貌。
Every spring, China’s cities are plunged into chaos, as all at once, a tidal wave of humanity attempts to return home by train. It is the Chinese New Year. The wave is made up of millions of migrant factory workers. The homes they seek are the rural villages and families they left behind to seek work in the booming coastal cities. It is an epic spectacle that tells us much about China.
